Our WIMES and harsh environment Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) are engineered to meet WIMES specifications for use across utility and industrial applications. With ingress protection (IP) ratings of up to IP55, the range is designed to withstand dust, moisture, humidity and temperature extremes.
WIMES (Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specifications) set the design standards expected within the UK water sector, ensuring equipment is suitable for demanding operational environments such as treatment works and pumping stations. Systems engineered to WIMES specifications are designed with durability, maintainability and integration in mind.
Ingress Protection (IP) ratings define how effectively an enclosure prevents the ingress of solids and liquids. With protection ratings of up to IP55, this range is built to resist dust and low-pressure water ingress, making it suitable for exposed utility and industrial environments where standard UPS systems would not be appropriate.
The WIMES and Harsh Environment Series is available in both single and three phase configurations and can be customised to suit the specific requirements of each installation. High-frequency, double conversion online UPS technology provides continuous, clean power to critical loads, while enclosure design and system configuration can be adapted to meet site conditions and operational needs.
Ease of maintenance is central to the design, supporting long-term serviceability and reduced downtime. Where required within WIMES applications, Volt Free Contact relays can be provided for alarm signalling and system monitoring.
