A county hospital needed to relocate their UPS system which was supporting this essential hospital unit which provides neonatal care for babies but was not ideally located in a plant room which also housed water pipes.
A better location was identified but it was essential that the transfer was conducted to a very specific schedule to ensure there was no interruption to the back up power system should the mains supply fail during the move.
The relocation was complex as it was dictated by the health and progress of each baby in the unit. It was decided the best way to do this was in distinct stages. The dual parallel system was split into single mode, and one UPS physically moved the new location.

When the last baby was moved, the second UPS could be also transferred to the new location and the system re-established as a dual parallel
