Pharmaceutical Company receives ALoMCP funding to make necessary generator updates
Case Study
A large pharmaceutical client with bespoke critical power equipment needed to update their generator protection device settings to meet new requirements outlined in the Distribution Code.
The Distribution Code required that updates were made to the generators connected to the National Grid, to make them less sensitive to disturbances in the electricity network and improve network resilience.
The regulations affected every form of non-domestic generation connected to the electricity network installed before February 2018 and with a capacity of between 10 kW and 50 kW.
Dale offered a complete service including site survey, recommendations, supply and installation
Dale's engineers supported the internal engineering team to make the necessary updates
Relays on 6 main generators were upgraded to meet the requirements
The client received funding for the necessary updates to meet ALoMCP compliance
Dale's engineering team worked alongside the client’s internal team to ensure a smooth transition
The updates will reduce the risk of unnecessary tripping and improve national grid resilience
Updates were mandatory and had to be in place by September 2022
