Dale Power Solutions is proud to announce the award of a contract to deliver a cutting-edge 4MWh Behind-the-Meter Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for a prominent UK client. This innovative project, scheduled for delivery in August 2025, is set to play a critical role in addressing grid connection challenges, maximising renewable energy usage, and supporting our client’s ambitious net-zero strategy.
An Innovative Approach to Energy Challenges
This state-of-the-art solution, developed in partnership with BYD through Energy For Tomorrow (EFT), will integrate the BYD MC Cube ESS with a total capacity of 4.6MWh. The compact 20ft skid design will be paired with a 1.9MWp solar PV system, efficiently DC coupled on solar carports to store excess solar energy for use during lower generation periods.
The BESS solution addresses the challenges of grid export limitations and empowers the client to:
Maximise self-consumption of renewable energy
Reduce dependency on the grid
Achieve energy cost savings
More importantly, this project is a key milestone in the client’s ambitious strategy and overarching net-zero goals towards decarbonising their operations, which includes phasing out gas and transitioning to fully electrified services.
Driving the Net-Zero Mission to Decarbonisation
The UK government has set bold targets to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, aligned with the global commitment under the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Achieving these goals requires businesses and industries to adopt cleaner energy solutions, improve energy efficiency, and integrate renewable energy sources.
Battery Energy Storage Systems are critical to this transition. By storing surplus renewable energy and optimising its use during peak demand, BESS reduces reliance on fossil fuels, enhances grid stability, and delivers measurable cost savings.
For this project, the 4MWh BESS system will store clean energy generated by the solar PV system, enabling the client to decarbonise operations effectively. By eliminating gas dependency and electrifying their services, the client will achieve substantial carbon reductions and make significant strides in their journey toward sustainability. This project exemplifies how businesses can use innovative solutions to overcome complex energy challenges with resilience while advancing their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals.
Pioneering Energy Resilience for the Future
As the UK moves toward its interim target of 13GW of installed battery storage capacity by 2030, Dale Power Solutions is at the forefront of delivering reliable, innovative storage solutions. We are committed to supporting businesses in their energy transition to achieve long-term energy resilience and sustainability. This project represents a significant step forward, showcasing how BESS can help businesses overcome technical barriers and achieve long-term energy resilience.
At Dale Power Solutions, we’re proud to drive the energy transition forward, helping create a greener, sustainable future for all.
