Case Study
When the UK’s NHS increased the number of daily tests for COVID-19, to ensure the maximum number of tests could be processed without power interruption, the testing equipment was backed up by an Uninterruptible Power Supply system.
Dale worked hard to supply the Dale E600 Series modular UPS systems to the healthcare equipment provider. Our engineering team installed and commissioned equipment onsite at the testing facilities and a technical team co-ordinated the operation, ensuring the hospitals were supplied with this essential equipment as quickly as possible.
The Dale E600 system features 1 x module delivering 20kVA of power and has a second 20kVA module as standard, providing built-in redundancy to ensure the equipment will not be at risk during a mains power failure.
Maintenance work can be carried out on the UPS system without disconnecting the load adding a further layer of resilience and continuity to this critical service.
Lance Lewis, Director at Dale comments, “We provide critical power products and maintenance to over 800 healthcare buildings across the UK and our equipment is used by all our emergency services so we are very aware of the needs of these vital services. The criticality of the pandemic meant that we have had to supply and install equipment extremely quickly. We had a team of engineers dedicated to this project who worked closely with the testing equipment provider and testing centres to have backup power in place as a priority.”
