Bespoke control system allows building society to keep existing generator
Case Study
A building society’s technology centre had a diesel generator to ensure it had backup power at the 24/7, critical business site. Replacement parts for the system were however becoming obsolete and a suitable off-the-shelf control system was no longer available.
To avoid replacing the whole generator system, Dale designed and built a bespoke, programmable control system to fit the existing generator set
3 x 1000kVA mobile generators, complete with their own fuel tank and control system, were installed to ensure continuous backup power was available throughout the installation
Work was carried out during the night to minimise disruption to the business
Training was given to the building society’s engineering maintenance staff
The bespoke control system extended the life of the generator, providing a quick, cost-effective solution for the building society
5-year maintenance package, guaranteeing the control panel for this period and providing 4 hour, 24/7 call out service
The new system, with state-of-the-art functionality, had potential for remote monitoring if required
Project completed in 4 week
“Dale took a very serious and professional approach to the project. They communicated well and changed quite a few of their prearranged plans to meet the society’s needs. They were flexible, which was good in this type of project.” Project Manager
