As we approach the end of 2024, our CEO, Gavin Hepburn, reflects on our business achievements, from sustainability initiatives and innovations to a packed calendar of events. It has been a remarkable year for Dale Power Solutions!
As we approach Christmas, we would like to reflect on the past year and celebrate our many fantastic initiatives and achievements.
As part of our improvements and net zero journey, we installed one of our own Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at our Head Office and a high-specification insulated roof on Factory One.
The BESS will enable us to take advantage of cheaper, greener, and more sustainable energy, whilst the new roof will significantly improve energy efficiency. In 2025, we plan to install solar panels onto the new factory roof, integrating them with our BESS and EV system to further cut Scope 2 CO2 emissions.
The BESS project also serves as a training hub, showcasing our leadership in advanced energy storage solutions.
Another milestone in our sustainability strategy was ordering our first hybrid vans and electric company vehicles. These vehicles added to our initiatives and will help to keep us firmly on track to achieve Net Zero by 2028!
Finally, we expanded our generator facilities by building a substantial new concrete pad in front of the factory and opened a new staff canteen.
To support the growing demand for our innovative sustainable power solutions, we established a dedicated Energy Storage & Renewables Division. Our BESS solutions enable commercial and industrial organisations to optimise and store renewable energy, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 90% and saving up to 60% on electricity costs!
We have an exclusive agreement with BYD (Build Your Dreams) through EFT (Energy For Tomorrow), which enables us to deliver market-leading BESS projects encompassing engineering, procurement and construction expertise and ongoing service and maintenance.
We are proud to partner with several high-profile clients and look forward to sharing more about these projects in 2025.
September onwards is always a busy time of year for us as it is exhibition season, coinciding with many events worldwide! Here is a glimpse into what the teams have been up to over recent months:
Organised a clay pigeon shoot to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We visited our partner in Germany and generator supplier in Spain.
Exhibited at Solar & Storage Live, CBRE Supplier Event, Scarborough Science & Engineering Week, Environment Agency Conference, NiBS 2024, RIN, Local Government Procurement EXPO, and PowerEx.
We attended ADIPEC 2024 in Abu Dhabi.
We joined NOF and Made in Yorkshire.
Shortlisted for two AMPS Excellence Awards.
Silver sponsor at the Datacentre.me Charity Christmas Party.
Following the relaunch of Erskine under the Dale Power Solutions umbrella, our Industrial UPS products now feature the Erskine brand. Founded in 1938 and renowned globally, Erskine returns with a refreshed logo, strengthening our worldwide presence.
The Launch of Current TalksIn recent months, we launched Current Talks, a podcast resource for insights into the critical power solutions landscape. Each episode features in-depth discussions with key personnel from Dale Power Solutions and influential industry leaders, with plans to film more episodes in 2025.
We recognise that investing in our people and the next generation is crucial for the future of our business and industry.
So, in 2024, following the success of our previous apprenticeships, we launched our 2024 Apprenticeship programme; we welcomed Amplified Leaders to deliver a two-day workshop on Lean Management System Implementation; and our teams experienced a day in the life of a Service Engineer visiting sites across London.
We were pleased to welcome Achilles onsite to complete its UVDB annual audit, for which the business demonstrated compliance and competence, scoring 99% in the audit.
Finally, our HR team recognised World Mental Health Day, launched a winter flu jab scheme, and established HR open-door afternoons.
